State Rep. Seth Grove, R-Dover Township, will hold an open house next month in a new district office that will open its doors next week.

The new office located at 1954 Carlisle Road will open Monday.

The current office in WestGate Plaza in the 1500 block of Kenneth Road will close its doors on Thursday for the move.

The new, larger office will provide more space for the representative and his staff members. It will also provide better privacy for constituents as they discuss private matters with Grove, he said.

The current office is an open concept, Grove said, making it difficult for constituents to discuss matters in private.

The new office is "a lot more conducive to the office space with need," Grove said.

Phones: While the phone number will remain the same, there is one hang-up in setting up the phone system at the new location, Grove said.

Verizon has been tied up with work in New York and New Jersey in the wake of Hurricane Sandy, and the phone system at Grove's new office won't set up and running until Dec. 11.

People who call Grove's office phone number will be transferred to his Harrisburg office, where a staffer will answer the call.

The new office once housed an eye doctor's office.

"The new location will allow citizens more convenient access to my office and better parking," said Grove.

Open house: The Holiday Open House, which will run from 3 to 6 p.m. Dec. 13, will give constituents a chance to meet Grove and his staff.

Registration is not required for the open house, but individuals with questions may contact Grove's office.

"The open house is an opportunity for residents to visit my new office, chat with my staff and I about the issues important to our district, and enjoy light refreshments and holiday fellowship," said Grove.

The new office will have the same hours as the old one. It will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays. The phone number for office is 767-3947.
