One person is dead following an early Saturday morning gunfight inside the Veterans Political Association in York City, police said.
A fight broke out about 2:30 a.m. inside the association building on the 800 block of Loucks Road, according to state police. People fled through the front door after several gunshots were fired, and the fight spilled into the parking lot, police said.
Shortly afterward, officers from the York City Police Department and West Manchester Township Police Department responded to the scene, where they found "a large fight (with) active gunfire," according to a city statement. Officers were fired on and returned fire.
City resident Juan Bonilla Jr., 21, was found dead at the scene, state police said. Bonilla's cause of death will be determined following further investigation and an autopsy.
As of 11 a.m. Saturday, no arrests had been made, police said.
Per protocol in officer-involved shootings, state police are investigating the incident.
