Police charged two York City men, one of whom is sought by police, with the slaying of Edward Leon Green earlier this month.

Charged with homicide, conspiracy to commit homicide, robbery and other charges is Malcolm Mansour Bull, 18, of 609 N. Hartley St., according to online court documents.

York City Police are looking for Shamar Almar McCowin, 23, of 250 S. Penn St. for the killing.

Police filed charges of homicide, conspiracy to commit homicide, robbery, and other charges against McCowin, the alleged triggerman, according to online court documents.

The charges against Bull and McCowin were filed Friday, police said.

Shooting: Green, 46, of York was shot during a carjacking just after 1 a.m. Nov. 6.

The shooting started behind the intersection of Hope Avenue and Green Street, near the 400 block of West Princess Street, police have said.

Green got out of his car and started running north toward Princess Street, but was chased by Bull and McCowin, police said.

In a statement given to investigators, Bull claims that McCowin was the one who shot Green, said Detective George Ripley with York City Police.

Ripley said that it's still not clear why McCowin allegedly shot Green.

Green was rushed to York Hospital, where he died in surgery shortly before 2:30 a.m.

"It's a tragedy," the detective said. "Green didn't resist or put up a fight."

Ripley said Bull and McCowin set out to rob someone and happened to come across Green.

The two men allegedly stole Green's car, which was filled with belongings since Green kept items in it while he stayed with friends.

Police are attempting to find out if anything was stolen out of the car. Investigators retrieved a number of items that were dumped on Cookes House Lane, about a block from the shooing, Ripley said.

Previous arrest: Bull is also accused of shooting Ronald Rhoades, 24, of Marbrook Lane about 12:15 p.m. the day before Green was gunned down.

Rhoades was shot in the back of the leg and suffered a minor gunshot wound to the back of the head at the intersection of Roosevelt Avenue and Lincoln Street.

Bull was remanded to York County Prison on $150,000 bail, charged with aggravated assault, criminal attempt homicide and firearm violations. Because he is now charged with Green's death, he would not be released from even if he posted bail.

"It makes me feel better to know he (Bull) is off the street and in prison," Ripley said.
