The York Jewish Community Center is organizing a bus trip to the U.S. Holocaust Museum in Washington, D.C., on Friday, March 9.
The bus trip is open to the public. Tickets are being sold now at $35 per person.
The trip will include 15 fourth-year students from York Suburban High School's German class thanks to a $525 grant from the Central Pennsylvania Holocaust Education Fund of the Harrisburg-based Foundation for Enhancing Communities.
Kathy Falatovich, York Suburban's German teacher, said she and her students are grateful for the opportunity to visit the museum.
"It is imperative that young adults see the exhibits and learn and understand the atrocities committed during the Holocaust so that they will not tolerate hate, prejudice and injustice toward others in their lifetime," Falatovich said.
To purchase tickets for the museum trip, call Linda Seligson at the York JCC at 843-0918 or email her at firstname.lastname@example.org.
