A local couple have added a third entity to their beer-selling business in York Township.

Danette Small-Shultz and her husband, David, own Tailgaters Grille and Drafthouse at 204 St. Charles Way. They also run Shultzie's, a dining area adjacent to Tailgaters.

Next week, they plan to open Brew-Ta-Go, a beer store - next to the dining area - that will sell domestic, imported and craft beers.

"You'll be able to do a mix and match so you can try different beers," Danette Small-Shultz said. "You could leave with three to six different types of beers in one six pack."

Beer also will be sold in 64-ounce growlers designed to keep draft beer fresh a longer period of time, she said.

Part of Shultzie's dining area was used to create the beer store, which will have its own entrance.

"We're working with the township to get everything done and meet all the requirements to pass inspection," Danette Small-Shultz said. "That's going real well. It's just a countertop we're waiting (to arrive). Everything else is approved and good to go."

The beer store's hours will be 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, she said.

Plans to create Brew-Ta-Go started in late summer, Danette Small-Shultz said.

"We've been watching which way the beer market is growing and we're seeing that the craft beers are growing so much, so we decided to expand our business with Brew-Ta-Go, with craft beers."
