BELLEFONTE -- Death-row inmates in Pennsylvania who get close enough to execution to order final meals learn they won't be able to order steak, lobster or even cake or pie.

Hubert Lester Michael Jr. declined to order a last meal Thursday at the Rockview state prison near State College, according to Susan McNaughton, press secretary for the state Department of Corrections.

But if he had, he would have been given an official "SCI Rockview Final Meal Selection" sheet, she said, and would have been allowed to choose one item from six categories, plus condiments.

While perhaps not a free person's idea of the perfect last meal, it does offer a number of selections. Here's what prisoners facing execution are allowed to eat:

ENTREES: Hamburger or cheeseburger, hot dog, cheesesteak, kielbasa, Italian sausage, breaded fish, chicken patty, pizza, baked chicken, barbequed chicken, scrambled eggs, meatballs, cold cuts or cheese

SIDE DISHES: French fries, rice, fried rice, whipped potatoes, sweet potatoes or a baked potato

SALADS: Coleslaw, tossed salad or macaroni salad

VEGETABLES: Green beans, corn, carrots, lima beans, broccoli, cauliflower, peas, spinach, collard greens, brussel sprouts or fried cabbage

FRUIT: Fresh apple or orange, applesauce or canned pears, canned peaches or canned pineapple

DESSERTS: Ice cream (chocolate, vanilla or strawberry), a cookie (oatmeal raisin, chocolate chip or Fig Newton) or juice bar (cherry, orange or blue raspberry).

Condiments offered are mayonnaise, mustard, ketchup, taco sauce and tartar sauce.
