Update: The Route 74 bridge over the Little Conewago Creek has been reopened to traffic, the Pennsylvania Department of transportation said.
PennDOT inspection crews have checked out the bridge between Dover and West Manchester townships and have given their OK to reopen it, PennDOT said. The bridge was reopened to traffic at around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
PennDOT closed the bridge Monday evening, and crews had to wait for flood waters to recede before they could inspect it, PennDOT said.
Previous story: While most roads in York County are getting back to normal after Hurricane Sandy, some areas are still being affected by flooding.
* The Route 74 bridge over the Little Conewago Creek, at Pine Road in Dover Township, is closed until the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation can inspect it, York County announced Tuesday.
There are no detours set up around the bridge, and drivers are asked to use Roosevelt Avenue and Bull Road as an alternate.
* In Spring Grove, water swamped the temporary bridge being used by Glatfelter and emergency vehicles while the Route 116 bridge is being replaced, but it is still usable.
* A section of Route 116 in Spring Grove and Jackson Township will be closed Wednesday evening while utilities and PennDOT replace 11 utility poles. Route 116 will be closed from Glenview Road in Spring Grove to just east of the railroad tracks near Little Creek Golf Course in Jackson Township, and the work is expected to be completed by 11 p.m.
