Dallastown's Brandon Greenplate fired a 2-over-par 73 on Monday to tie for fifth place after the first round of the PIAA Class AAA State Golf Championship at Heritage Hills Golf Resort in York.

He is just two shots off the lead, which is shared by Scranton Prep's Chris Cerminaro, Conestoga Valley's Marc Oliveri and Wissahickon's Jalen Griffin.

Indiana's Matt Holuta is alone in fourth at 72.

Greenplate is tied with Slippery Rock's Brett Rinker and Manheim Township's Craig Hornberger.

In Class AA boys, Isaiah Logue is alone in fifth place after shooting a 74. Yough's Alex Patricio and Northwestern Lehigh's Cole Miller are tied for the AA lead at 72. Holy Redeemer's Mariano Medico and Leechburg's Matt Barto are tied for third at 73.

Council Rock North's Erica Herr leads the AAA girls' field after shooting a 72, while Pennsbury's Jackie Rogowicz is second at 73 and Mt. St. Joseph's Isabella DeLisio fired a 74.

Villa Maria's Cara Basso paces the AA girls' tournament after firing a 78. Central Valley's Macky Fouse was second at 80. Hickory's Rosy Hearns and Allentown Central Catholic's Franca Hurtado tied for third with 81s.

No York-Adams girls' golfers qualified for the state event.

The second and final round in all the classes are set for Tuesday at Heritage Hills.
