York's Gus Minkin won the boys' under-14 division at an International Junior Golf Tour event at the Penn State Blue Course last weekend.

Minkin had rounds of 77 and 72 for a two-round total of 5-over-par 149. He finished four shots ahead of the second-place finisher. The under-14 division played from the white tees, which measured 6,241 yards.

Minkin had finished in fourth place in both of his previous IJGT tournaments.

Minkin trailed by three strokes at the end of the opening round of play. His final round of even-par 72 featured four birdies in a five-hole stretch and propelled him to the victory.

"I was pretty confident today," Minkin said on the IJGT website. "I felt like I could make pretty much any putt."

Minkin's final round also gave him the Clazic Belt Low Final Round honors for the boys division.
