Sixteen York-Adams League teams have qualified for the District 3 boys' and girls' soccer tournaments, which are scheduled to start this weekend with play-in games.

Nine local boys' teams made the field, while seven York-Adams girls' teams qualified.

The best seed from the local league is the York Suburban boys' side, which is No. 2 in the Class AA field. The Trojans will open with a home match at 7 p.m. Monday against York-Adams Division II rival Susquehannock, which is seeded No. 15. Suburban won Division II, while Susquehannock finished third. The Trojans beat the Warriors in both of their meetings this season by identical 2-0 scores.

In Class AAA boys, Division I champion Dallastown grabbed the No. 3 seed and will play host to first-round game at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday against the winner of Saturday's play-in game between No. 14 seed Garden Spot and No. 19 seed Carlisle.

Central York is seeded No. 11 in AAA boys will travel to No. 6 seed Lower Dauphin at 7 p.m. Tuesday for a first-round match.

York-Adams League Tournament champion South Western and Red Lion also made the AAA boys' field, but will be forced to compete in play-in games on Saturday. No. 15 seed South Western will play host to No. 18 seed Lampeter-Strasburg at 4 p.m., while No. 17 seed Red Lion will travel to No. 16 seed Hershey at 2:45 p.m.

Three York-Adams teams qualified in Class A boys -- No. 4 seed York Catholic, No. 5 seed Biglerville and No. 9 seed Fairfield. Division III champion York Catholic gets a bye in Tuesday's first round. In Saturday's quarterfinals, the Irish will face the winner of Tuesday's first-round game between No. 12 seed Mount Calvary and Biglerville. That game will be at Biglerville at 7 p.m. Fairfield will travel to No. 8 seed Conestoga Christian at 7 p.m. Tuesday in a first-round battle.

In Class AAA girls' action, Division I champion Dallastown is seeded No. 12 and will visit No. 5 seed Gov. Mifflin at 7 p.m. Monday. No. 17 Dover and No. 20 Central York will hit the road in AAA play-in action. York-Adams League Tournament champion Dover travels to No. 16 Waynesboro at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, while Central visits No. 13 Cocalico at 4 p.m. Friday.

Susquehannock garnered the No. 5 seed in AA girls, and will play host to No. 12 seed Lancaster Mennonite in a first-round game at 7 p.m. Tuesday. That same day, No. 7 West York will welcome No. 10 ELCO in a 4 p.m. first-round battle. West York is the Division II champion.

In Class A girls, Division III champion Fairfield is seeded No. 2 and received a bye in Monday's first round. On Thursday, Fairfield will meet the winner of Monday's first-round game between No. 10 Mount Calvary and No. 7 Lancaster Country Day. York Catholic is seeded No. 5 in Class A girls will play host to No. 12 Millersburg at 4 p.m. Monday in a first-round meeting.
