York College junior Tim Hartung has been named the Capital Athletic Conference Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week.

Hartung won the individual title at the Christopher Newport Invitational. It was Hartung's second individual win of the season and helped the Spartans finish fourth in the team standings.

York sophomore Jessica Miller was selected the CAC Women's Cross Country Co-Athlete of the Week. Miller finished 13th at the Christopher Newport event out of more than 100 participants. She helped the Spartans to a sixth-place team finish.

OTHER YORK COLLEGE NOTE

SPARTANS FALL IN FIELD HOCKEY: The York College women's field hockey team lost 5-2 to visiting Rhodes College in a non-conference matchup Tuesday afternoon. The Lynx were able to come back from a 2-0 halftime deficit to capture the victory. The Spartans fell to 7-7. The Lynx improved to 9-4. York freshman Holly Martin scored just 2:31 into the game off a pass from Kailey Brewer. Less than five minutes later the Spartans made the game 2-0 off a goal from Madi Wilt. Rhodes controlled play after that, however, and stormed back for the win.
