HANOVER -- There were no surprises on the first day of the York-Adams Girls' Tennis Doubles Championships.
The eight seeded teams, four in Class AAA and four in Class AA, all advanced to the semifinals without losing a set.
In Wednesday's semifinal matchups at South Western, Katie Wagner and Adriana Bullaj, the top-seeded team in AAA, will take on the No. 3-seeded team from Central York, Emily Kuhn and Taylor Strausbaugh. The other AAA semifinal will feature the No. 2-seeded duo from Dallastown, Emily Westenberger and Danielle Lucabaugh, facing the No. 4-seeded team from South Western, Mackenzie Bortner and Madison Bortner.
In Class AA, the matchups are: Anna Spoden and Maddie Kepner of York Catholic (No. 1-seeded team) vs. Bryn Yurick and Morgan Anthony of Bermudian Springs (No. 4) and Carlee Brumgard and Jenna Glass of Biglerville (No. 2) vs. Sarah Koury and Emily Javitt of York Catholic (No. 3).
The semifinals are scheduled for 2:30 p.m. at South Western High School followed by the finals and consolations in both classes.
