A York City man escaped with his life after being shot twice in the abdomen early Tuesday morning, police said.

Dwayne Ricky Granton was in satisfactory condition Tuesday at York Hospital, a hospital spokesman said.

His wounds are not life-threatening, according to York City Police.

Granton, 35, of West Philadelphia Street, told officers he was walking home from a bar and was in the 200 block of South Pine Street when he heard gunshots and was hit twice, just above the belt, police said.

Granton said he didn't see the shooter and was unsure how many shots were fired, police said.
