A York City man arrested for allegedly pointing a loaded gun at people early Sunday morning wound up with more charges after officials said he later became unruly and damaged a holding-cell window.

Justo Luis Munoz, 44, of 714 W. Princess St., remains in county prison on a total of $75,000 bail.

York City Police said officers were called to the 600 block of West Princess Street about 2:20 a.m. Sunday for a report of a man threatening people with a gun.

They found Munoz on scene with a loaded 9mm handgun.

He told officers he was the victim of the threats and that he'd taken the gun away from someone who'd pointed it at him, according to police.

But a witness at the scene told officers Munoz was the man with the gun, and officers arrested him, police said.

Munoz was taken to the county's central booking unit where he was arraigned on charges of simple assault, being a convicted felon in illegal possession of a gun, making terroristic threats, carrying a firearm without a license and public drunkenness.

Damaged glass: While awaiting his arraignment, Munoz became unruly, banging on the glass of a holding cell and shouting profanities, according to charging documents.

Sheriff's deputies -- who run the central booking unit -- handcuffed Munoz and moved him to a different holding cell, at which point he refused to put his hands through a port in the cell door that deputies use to put on and take off prisoners' handcuffs, documents state.

He started to hit the glass on the holding cell with the handcuffs, causing a small crack in the glass, deputies allege.

Damage is estimated at $300, officials said.

Munoz is charged with institutional vandalism and criminal mischief for the booking unit incident.
