Schindler Elevator Corp. is moving to Hanover.
The New Jersey-based company recently purchased 23 acres along Industrial Drive in the Penn Township Industrial Park, according to township records.
The townhsip has also given Schindler approval to construct a 220,000-square-foot facility at the site. The manufacturer is seeking bids to build a new facility there.
The company, which is the U.S. arm of the Switzerland-based Schindler Group, announced in January that it would close its Gettysburg plant and relocate.
Camp Hill, Hanover and York were eyed by the manufacturer as viable options to transfer about 100 employees, and Schindler inked the deal in Hanover a couple weeks ago.
The company will use the new site for assembly, engineering and quality operations. Parts, including doors, jambs and walls will also be made at the new facility, according to an announcement earlier this year.
