PennDOT crews on Friday began road repair work on Harrisburg Pike in Dillsburg, marking the start of a project to repair Route 74, Harrisburg Pike and Mumper Lane to prepare for resurfacing next spring, the state announced Wednesday.
The $2.25 million contract, which was awarded in July to Highway Materials Inc. in Montgomery County, includes roadway base repair, curb-cut work, milling and resurfacing, guide rail and sign installation and new traffic lines, according to the state.
PennDOT advises people traveling in the Dillsburg area between now and winter might encounter single-lane restrictions with flaggers directing traffic.
The project is scheduled to be completed in July 2013.
