York could see some thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon and showers throughout the day.

There's a 70 percent chance of rain in York Wednesday as a cold front moves through the area, according to the National Weather Service. Scattered strong thunderstorms are possible through central Pennsylvania in the afternoon, especially in southern parts of the state and the Susquehanna Valley. Up to half an inch of rain is expected, with more falling during storms, and gusty winds and hail are possible.

Wednesday's high will be 77 and the low 60, and winds will be from the southwest at 7-11 mph.

The chance of showers continues through Thursday morning, but the day will be mostly sunny, with a high of 74 and low of 57, the forecast said. Winds will be from the north at 3-6 mph.

Friday will be mostly cloudy, with a 50 percent chance of showers, the NWS said. The high will be 69 and the low 57.

Saturday and Sunday will be cloudy with a chance of showers, the forecast said. Highs will be around 70 and lows in the mid-50s.

Monday also has a chance of showers, with a high of 71 and low of 55, the service said.
