A 23-year-old Conewago Township man faces numerous charges, including aggravated assault, after he allegedly hit another man with a pipe outside a Manchester Township bar early Saturday morning.

Cody Scott Raffensberger is charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, simple assault, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance, according to Northern York County Regional Police.

He remains in York County Prison in lieu of $10,000 bail, according to online court documents.

Officers were dispatched to Piazza Romana, located at 2350 N. George St., at 2:18 a.m. for a report of an assault and found a 26-year-old man suffering from a head injury, police said.

Witnesses told officers that Raffensberger had been thrown out of the bar earlier for taunting the victim and was later seen in the parking lot swinging a metal pole or pipe, police said.

About 20 minutes later, the victim left the bar and Raffensberger allegedly hit him in the head with the blunt instrument, sending the victim to the ground, police said.

Raffensberger attempted to flee the area but was caught by officers after a short foot chase, police said.

The victim was taken to York Hospital for treatment of his injury, police said.
