The final enforcement wave of the Ride Sober or Get Pulled Over enforcement campaign is coming this weekend with roving DUI patrols in York County and sobriety checkpoints in Lancaster County, according to the Center for Traffic Safety.

Beginning Friday and continuing through Sept. 30, the law enforcement will target roadways with incidences of impaired riding. Officers will also be targeting motorcycles, as "impaired riding among motorcyclists is a large issue," said Wayne Harper, director of the Center for Traffic Safety.

There were 202 motorcycle riders killed in traffic crashes in Pennsylvania during 2010, and many of the riders were impaired, he said. Over the past three years, York and Lancaster counties ranked first and second in Pennsylvania in the total number of impaired riding crashes and deaths, with 17 fatalities in York County and 11 deaths in Lancaster County.
