Police have taken one person into custody after an incident in the 300 block of East College Avenue in York City that may or may not have involved gunfire.

Around 1 p.m. Friday, a possible victim -- "of what, we're not sure" -- flagged down a police officer, Sgt. John Veater said.

The victim pointed to his alleged attacker, then left the scene, Veater said. Police found the suspect a block away, and he was arrested on an unrelated bench warrant.

Someone also called 911 and reported a shooting.

"Now we just gotta figure out if there actually was a crime," Veater said. "We don't know what happened."

Several neighbors and pedestrians at the scene said they neither saw nor heard anything.

No one has arrived at local hospitals with gunshot wounds, Veater said shortly before 2 p.m.
