Thirty-five members of the Pennsylvania State Police have been promoted to the rank of sergeant, Commissioner Frank Noonan announced Monday.

The following were promoted locally:

* Philip J. Duffy of Dover is assigned to the Bureau of Training and Education. Duffy enlisted in 1994 and was promoted to corporal in 2007.

* Michael J. Hinkle of Seven Valleys is assigned to the Bureau of Criminal Investigation. Hinkle enlisted in 1994 and was promoted to corporal in 2010.

* Daniel D. Steele of Pottstown, Montgomery County, will be assigned to the York barracks. He was previously assigned to Troop K, Skippack. Steele enlisted in 2002 and was promoted to corporal in 2006.
