The Susquehannock girls' soccer team remained entrenched in first place in York-Adams Division II on Thursday with a 4-1 victory over visiting Kennard-Dale.
The Warriors improved to 3-0-0 in the division. The Rams fell to 0-3-0.
The Rams actually jumped out to a 1-0 lead on Kate Williams' goal, but it was all Susquehannock after that.
Cassidy Mummert had a goal and an assist to lead the Warriors. Maddy Mummert, Katie Steines and Jeanette Wilson had the other Susquehannock goals. Ashley Stone had four saves to get the win in goal. Karah Cotton had 10 saves in a losing cause.
OTHER GIRLS' SOCCER
RED LION 2, YORK SUBURBAN 1: At Red Lion, Taylor Sprenkle scored the game-winning goal when she found the back of the net with 20 minutes remaining in the second half to secure the Lions' victory. Sam Andel scored a first-half goal for Red Lion, while Courtney Trout made eight stops in goal to earn the win. For the Trojans, Mikala Kin scored their lone goal of the match. She's now tied the Trojans' school record for most goals in a career.
YORK CATHOLIC 6, LITTLESTOWN 0: At York Catholic, Kathleen Johnson led the Irish to the York-Adams Division III victory by scoring three goals. Natasha Vadas scored one goal and added three assists for the Irish, while Elizabeth Johnson scored one goal and added one assist. Rachel Tucci scored one goal and Emily Ryan added an assist. The Irish (3-1-0 in Division III) limited the Thunderbolts to two shots on goal.
DALLASTOWN 5, SOUTH WESTERN 1: At Hanover, the Wildcats led 3-0 at the half and went on to capture the York-Adams Division I victory. Alaina Curry led the Wildcats with two goals. Meagan Newmister scored one goal and had one assist. Abby Jones and Jenna Zager each scored one goal, while Brittany Hessler and Britany Gurreri each added one assist. The Wildcats (4-0-0 in the division) held the Mustangs to one shot on goal.
WEST YORK 3, NORTH EASTERN 2: At West York, the Bobcats led 2-1 at the half, but Shyanne Kimbrough responded with two second-half goals, including the game winner, a penalty kick with 2:30 remaining in the match, to secure the York-Adams Division II victory. Brittany Jones added a second-half assist for the winners, while Amanda Cheak scored a first-half goal on a direct kick. For the Bobcats, Logan Neiman picked up both assists, while Payton Hauck and Sam Christine each scored one goal.
CENTRAL YORK 6, NEW OXFORD 1: At Central, Mallory Shirey had two goals and an assist to lead Central. Sam Sweeney also had two goals for the winners, The other Central scores came from Lauren Huber and Shannon Brenner. Nicole Ayers was credited with 36 saves in a losing effort.
DOVER 2, EASTERN 0: At Wrightsville, the Eagles led 2-0 at the half and went on to capture the York-Adams Division II victory. Brooke Firestone and Maddy Miller each scored one goal for the Eagles. Marcie Gerrick made four saves in goal to record the shutout. For the Golden Knights, Cassidy Layman made 14 saves in goal.
