An 18-year-old Cedar Cliff High School student escaped life-threatening injury Thursday when his legs were run over by a car driven by another student, police said.
It happened about 7:15 a.m. in the parking lot on the west side of the high school, according to Lower Allen Township Police.
Police said the young man had climbed onto the hood of a stopped vehicle being operated by a 17-year-old boy. The boy then drove for about 80 feet, at which point the 18-year-old slid off the hood.
The driver was unable to stop in time and ran over the young man's lower legs, police said.
The young man suffered non-life threatening injuries and was conscious and alert at the scene, according to police, who didn't release the names of the students involved.
