York City police arrested a city man Tuesday night who allegedly assaulted another man and then stole his cellphone in August.

William Arce Rodriguez, 46, of 22 Local Way was arrested on an arrest warrant at a house in the 600 block of East Market Street about 11:40 p.m.

He is charged with robbery, simple assault and theft, according to his court documents.

Rodriguez remains in York County Prison in lieu of $70,000 bail, according to a prison official.

He is accused of punching the man's head and face a number of times, causing a cut to his lower lip, and stealing his cellphone in the 600 block of East Market Street just before 7 p.m. on Aug. 3., according to Rodriguez's charging documents.

Rodriguez confronted the man because he believed the man was entered his ex-girlfriend's house, documents state.

Rodriguez fled the area before police arrived.
