A package with a suspicious substance inside that was mailed to a Shrewsbury Township address turned out not to be a danger to the public.

Emergency responders were dispatched to a house in the first block of Still Pond lane just before 4 p.m. Monday for a package that had a white powder in it.

They were able to determine the substance was nothing dangerous, said Trooper Adam Reed, state police spokesman.

A United States Postal Inspector will be handling any sort of investigation, Reed said.
