A West York woman was sexually assaulted and left lying in a car dealership parking lot in the 1200 block of West Market Street early Sunday morning, according to borough police.

The woman, who is in her late 40s, was found partially nude just after 4 a.m. after a witness called police. The woman was taken to York Hospital for treatment because of a high amount of alcohol in her system, police said.

The witness told police that he saw the woman and a man leave a nearby tavern about 2:30 a.m. and that the man was partially dragging the woman, police said.

The two went between a parked pickup truck and a car and the man left after about half an hour, police said.

The witness described the man as a white man between the ages of 45 to 55 with gray hair and mustache who may be a worker at the York Fair, police said.
