A York City man allegedly assaulted a city police officer Friday night.

Jeffrey Michael Lau, 44, of 339 S. Pine St. is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault and disorderly conduct, according to online court records.

He remains in York County Prison in lieu of $25,000 bail.

Police allege that Lau was involved in a physically altercation with police Officer Shawn Kelly in the 700 block of East Prospect Street at 8:36 p.m. Friday.

Police did not say if either man was injured in the fight.
