The Spring Grove and Dover girls' volleyball teams have dominated the York-Adams League over the past three seasons.

Spring Grove won the regular-season Division I title a year ago, but Dover, after finishing second in Division I, took the league tournament title. In 2010, Dover and Spring Grove tied for the Division I crown, but Dover again took the league tournament crown. And in 2009, Spring Grove won Division I and Dover took Division II.

The two teams met Thursday night in an early-season Division I battle at Dover.

The visiting Rockets came away with an impressive 25-18, 25-20, 25-13 victory to improve to 2-0 in the division. It was the division opener for the Eagles.

Samantha Bollinger and Katie Baynum combined for 18 kills for the Rockets. Brooks Osborne filled the statistics sheet for the winners with one kill, two blocks, 11 assists, one dig and one ace, and Katie Mummert supplied one kill, one block, 11 digs and four aces.

Bayleigh Hoffman had an outstanding all-around performance for Dover with 12 kills, 10 assists, two blocks, four digs and seven aces. Lauryn Messner furnished 11 assists for the Eagles, and Megan Blazosky and Kylie Foust teamed for six kills.

Spring Grove also won the JV match in straight sets, 25-14, 25-10.

OTHER GIRLS' VOLLEYBALL

WEST YORK 3, NEW OXFORD 2: At West York, the Bulldogs rallied for a thrilling 23-25, 25-19, 9-25, 25-21, 16-14 triumph. Lauren Fink (12 kills, 11 digs) and Alexis Harbold (19 digs) led West York. New Oxford's stat leaders were Taryn Crone (10 kills), Bonaire Berry (30 assists, nine digs, seven kills) and Ashley Caster (21 digs, nine kills, four aces). West York won the JV match, 25-12, 25-11.

YORK CATHOLIC 3, BERMUDIAN SPRINGS 0: At York Catholic, Natalie Stewart filled the statistics sheet for the Fighting Irish with two aces, one kill, 17 assists, four digs and two blocks. Zandria Zielinski delivered seven aces, nine kills, 10 digs and three blocks in the 25-22, 25-16, 25-14 victory. Bermudian won the JV match, 25-19, 25-10.

SUSQUEHANNOCK 3, RED LION 0: At Red Lion, the Warriors dominated, 25-16, 25-14, 25-7. Susquehannock was led by Rachel Moltz (29 assists, six digs, five blocks), Leah Deter (11 digs, five aces), Beth Garrison (13 digs), Caroline Savin (eight kills), Genna Weger (13 digs) and Abigail Bentz (11 kills, 11 digs). Brooke Daugherty (11 assists, 10 digs) and Marley Vebares (nine digs, six kills) paced Red Lion. Susquehannock also won the JV match, 25-14, 25-12.

CENTRAL 3, SOUTH WESTERN 1: At South Western, Hadley Swartz pounded 23 kills, and Erin Dobbeck recorded 45 assists as Central shook off a first-set loss to defeat the Mustangs, 23-25, 25-17, 25-18, 25-22. The Panthers' Andrea Quartey, Naya Cheatem and Sydney Gallagher teamed for 20 kills. Holly Arey racked up 18 kills for South Western, and Erin Harman delivered nine kills, four aces, one assist and 15 digs. Mariah Krumrine put up 32 assists for the Mustangs. Central won the JV match, 25-9, 25-13.

FAIRFIELD 3, YORK TECH 0: At Fairfield, the Green Knights won, 25-22, 25-17, 25-23. Danielle Shindledecker led the home team with eight kills. Trisha Zimmerman had 15 assists. For the Spartans, Adriana Beattie had 12 digs, four aces and three kills. Lauren Bupp had 24 digs and three assists, while Savannah Grimes had 12 digs. Fairfield won the JV match, 25-9, 25-12.

HANOVER 3, LITTLES TOWN 0: At Littlestown, the Hawkettes won, 25-19, 25-20, 26-24. Shelby Barnes led the visitors with 10 kills, 10 digs and three aces. Renee Drawbaugh had 19 assists and six digs. For the Thunderbolts, Alicia Mosebrook had four kills and 10 digs, while Lauren Slater had 10 assists, three blocks and seven digs. Hanover won the JV match, 20-25, 27-25, 15-8.

YORK SUBURBAN 3, NORTHEASTERN 1: At Manchester, Maura Brehl led the Trojans to the 25-15, 25-17, 21-25, 25-20 victory with 12 kills. Lindsay Saxman had 21 digs and Alexis Gettle had 34 assists. For the Bobcats, Bayle Sowers had six kills, while Maddie Reichard had seven kills and Natalie Seitz had 22 digs. Suburban won the JV match, 29-27, 25-27, 15-11.

DELONE CATHOLIC 3, DALLASTOWN 0: At McSherrystown, the Squirettes rolled, 25-23, 25-11, 25-12. Hannah Lawrence (22 digs) and Allie Mondorff (20 assists, five kills, four digs) led Delone. The Wildcats were paced by Emma Legere (17 digs, four aces), McKenzie Peters (five kills, four digs, six assists) and Lauren Rittle (six kills). Delone won the JV match, 27-25, 21-25, 15-9

EASTERN 3, YORK HIGH 0: At York High, the Golden Knights won the varsity match by the near identical scores of 25-5, 25-5, 25-6. Eastern also captured the JV match, 25-5, 25-11.
