Drivers taking the detour around Spring Grove to avoid the bridge construction project will have more road work to deal with starting this week.

On Monday, crews will begin work to realign Lehman Road with Route 116 in North Codorus Township and install a traffic signal at the intersection, working between Route 516 and Rockery Road.

The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said there will be no traffic restrictions in the construction zone on Route 116 between 6 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. There may be single-lane traffic restrictions with flaggers at other times.

During the course of the project, PennDOT will close Route 516 where it intersects with Route 116 for as long as eight days, with those closure dates and a detour route being announced later.

The project is scheduled for completion by late June 2013.

Lehman Road is already being used as a detour for a bridge replacement project on Route 116 in Spring Grove, but PennDOT spokesman Greg Penny the projects are being coordinated so the realignment project detours can't occur until the Route 116 bridge is reopened.

Most of the work for the realignment won't take place on Route 116 or Lehman Road, but off the roads on a portion of land that will become the newly realigned road, he said.

Other projects: In Heidelberg Township, Thoman Drive will be closed while crews work to replace pipe.

Lane restrictions, but no closures, will be in effect for other projects.

Crews will be working to seal cracks on Interstate 83 between exits 14 and 28. Lane restrictions will be in effect during evening hours.

Street sweeping is scheduled for state Route 15 between Route 74 and the Adams County line.

Crews are scheduled to pave the following roads: Blue Ball Road in East Hopewell Township between Pleasant Valley and Hickory roads; Sheep Bridge Road in Newberry Township between Kise Mill Road and Conewago Creek; and Distillery Road in Springfield Township between Route 216 and Foust Road.

Pipe replacement is scheduled for Wollen Mill Road in Fawn Township between Webb and New Park roads.

Shoulder work will take place on the following roads: Lucky Road in Chanceford Township between routes 74 and 425; Board Road in East Manchester Township between routes 238 and 921; and a portion of Bull Road in Dover Township.

Landscaping work is scheduled for the following roads: Lehman Road in North Codorus Township between Myers Road and Route 116; Delta Road in Lower Chanceford Township between New Bridgeville Road and the Maryland line; and Old York Road in Fairview Township between Route 392 and the Cumberland County line.

For most projects, crews will work between the hours of 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
