Traffic may be disrupted in York County Monday as a large, hydroelectric turbine moves from Springettsbury Township to Seattle.

Weir American Hydro will begin shipping the turbine runner at 10:30 a.m., a spokeswoman said, which may affect commuters on Stonewood Road, East Market Street, Route 24, Route 30 and I-83 north.

State police will stop all traffic on Route 24 as a 20-axle truck carries the 181,000-pound load toward its Washington destination, said Diane Hake, spokeswoman for American Hydro.

Its journey will span 2, 073 miles during three days before arriving at Boundary Hydroelectric Dam, located a mile south of the Canadian border.
