Collectibles from Harry McLaughlin's estate will be auctioned this weekend in Springettsbury Township.
The Vintage Collectibles Auction will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday at Springettsbury Fire Co. Social Hall at 3013 E. Market St. The auction will be run by local Gilbert & Gilbert Auctioneers Inc.
Auction items can be previewed from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at the social hall.
Harry McLaughlin - who was a columnist with The York Dispatch until his death on Feb. 9, 2007 - collected thousands of autographs from famous people, including musicians, athletes and politicians.
McLaughlin built his collection during his 70-year journalism career.
Brian Gilbert, co-owner of Gilbert & Gilbert Auctioneers Inc., said McLaughlin's auction items include celebrity autographs and political and presidential badges, photos and paper work, as well as York County and York Fair items.
Also being auctioned are albums of political campaign tokens, buttons and other objects from the mid-1800s; albums of U.S. presidents from Dwight Eisenhower to Bill Clinton; and items from the Spanish-American War and World War II.
