A Maryland man was struck by a truck outside of a Peach Bottom Township bar in July, state police announced on Sunday.

John William Saska, 55, of Wenzel Road in the township was backing his truck into a parking spot about 1:38 a.m. on July 7 when the truck went onto a grass area and struck a passed out Larry Scott Manahan, 44, of Pylesville, police said.

Manahan was lying passed out on the grass because he was intoxicated, police said.

After the incident, Saska ran from the scene but was apprehended, police said.

Manahan, who was taken to York Hospital to be treated for injuries, is charged with public drunkenness, police said.

Saska is charged with leaving the scene of a crash, police said.
