Matt Henry fired rounds of 69 and 73 over the weekend to win the South Hills Golf Club men's championship.
Henry's total of 142 was five shots better than Darrell Bryant and Tyler Rhines, who tied for second place with 147s. Henry is a two-time York County Amateur champion.
Eric Helwig and Joey Lawrence recorded matching 148s to tie for fourth place.
The flight winners were: Sean Mulgrew, First Flight; John Sepic, Second Flight; Andy Farley, Third Flight; and Don Lafferty, Fourth Flight.
Josh Arentz matched Mulgrew's 153 in the First Flight, but Mulgrew captured the tie-breaker.
OTHER GOLF NOTES
DAUBERT, KENNEDY TAKE HCC CROWNS: Alex Daubert and Amy Kennedy captured club championships over the weekend at Hanover Country Club. Daubert won the men's crown, while Kennedy took the women's title. The men's flight winners were: First, Rick Sasse; Second, Fred Hickman; Third, Jim McClelland; and Fourth, Denny Tavares. The women's flight winners were: First, Susi Guinn; and Second, Audrie Sasse.
YORKER HAS ACE AT HONEY RUN: York's Max Walker scored a hole in one this past Friday at Honey Run Golf Club. Walker used a 4-hybrid to ace No. 17. Terry Robertson, Randy Thompson and Dave Smith witnessed Walker's tee shot on the 174-yard hole.
