More than 1,500 Met-Ed customers were without power after a storm swept through York County Thursday evening, but crews had restored service to most customers by Friday morning.

As of 8:30 p.m. Thursday, more than 1,500 customers were in the dark, according to Met-Ed.

Outages hit in areas such as Hellam, Springfield, Springettsbury, and Shrewsbury townships.

There were a few reports of wires on fire and downed trees and limbs across the county, according to York County 911 radio dispatches.

By Friday morning, crews had restored power to all but about 150 customers, with most of them in Hellam and Springfield townships, the company reported.
