Two men allegedly stole food from a roadside produce stand and then hurled the food at houses and mailboxes in southwestern York County last week.

Southwestern Regional Police received numerous reports of damage to mailboxes and windows in the areas of Kitzmiller, Smoketown, Thoman, Ambau, Bentz, Harr, Hoff and Stoverstown roads Thursday and Friday, police said.

Fruits, vegetables, glass jars of prepared foods and large rocks were chucked from a car at the houses, police said.

The food, valued at $500, was reported stolen from a produce stand at the corner of Iron Ridge and Hanover roads in Heidelberg Township, police said.

A number of stickers were also found stuck to mailboxes and road signs where the damage was reported, police said.

Police are looking for two white males who were driving a white Subaru Legacy and a small back car with a rear spoiler.

Anyone with information is asked to call Officer Holly Jackson at 255-1333 ext. 114.
