The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for York County for Tuesday, when the heat index is expected to exceed 100 degrees.
The heat advisory will be in effect from noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday, and the weather service is encouraging residents to take extra precautions when spending time outside.
The temperature on Tuesday is expected to peak in the mid to upper 90s. Combined with dewpoints in the upper 60s, the weather service said the heat index will be in excess of 100 degrees.
