More than 5,900 Met-Ed customers lost power around 1:15 p.m., some of them for the second time Thursday.
Company spokeswoman Kathy Seilhamer said the afternoon outage was caused by load problems from re-routing that had been done Thursday morning because of a different problem, a damaged piece of equipment used for lightning protection.
Customers, who were concentrated in the areas of York Township, Spry, and Dallastown, had service restored by 2:15 p.m., she said.
