A woman escaped injury in an attempted purse snatching in Dover Township on Wednesday.
The 40-year-old Dover Township woman was walking from her vehicle in the parking lot of a shopping center in the 2100 block of Palomino Road to a store about 2:30 p.m. when a black two door sports car backed out of a parking spot, blocking her path, according to Northern York County Regional Police.
The car began to drive away but a few seconds later, a male passenger came up from behind the woman and grabbed her wallet from a shopping cart, police said.
As the would-be thief was running back to the car, the woman gave chase and began to yell, police said.
The man threw the wallet, got into the car that fled toward Carlisle Road, police said.
The man is described as a white male with a full beard and was wearing a white T-shirt and a hat, police said.
The female driver of the car has long brown hair, police said.
