Two men were assaulted during separate robberies recently in York City, police said.

Troy Webb, 20, of the first block of South Belvidere Avenue, was behind his home about 4:30 a.m. Saturday when he was approached by a group of six males, asking him for change to use at a nearby vending machine, York City Police said.

One of the males grabbed him from behind and a second punched Webb in the face, police said. When Webb fell to the ground, others in the group kicked him. They stole $30 cash and a pack of Pyramid cigarettes from Webb, police said.

Gerardo Vargas-Torres, 20, of the first block of Tri Hill Road in Spring Garden Township, reported to police he was apparently beaten up and robbed as he left a bar Thursday night.

Vargas-Torres said he left Banana Max, 1401 Roosevelt Ave., about 11 p.m. He said he remembers being surrounded by four men, then doesn't remember anything else until he awoke behind a shed at a nearby business Friday morning with facial injuries, police said.

Vargas-Torres was missing $5, his iPod and a shirt, police said.
