JACOBUS -- Casey Markey made sure that York Township gained a split of its two Susquehanna League games over the weekend.
Markey pitched six shutout innings on Sunday afternoon before turning things over to former Major Leaguer Mark Hendrickson in Township's a 7-0 victory over Jacobus.
The victory came 24 hours after Township lost to Conrads, 9-6.
Markey struck out three, walked one and allowed six hits. Hendrickson recorded one strikeout in retiring the three batters he faced.
Markey's teammates backed him with a 12-hit attack, which included Mike Wokulich's grand slam to left-center field in the sixth.
Ryan Leader supplied a solo home run, Chris Mattison drilled a double and a triple and Austin Calaman
Ryan Poff and Drew Kelley had two hits each for Jacobus. One of Poff's hits was a double. Nate Kopp smashed a one-out triple for the Jackals in the second inning, but he was stranded at third base.
Township improved to 16-12 and moved into a fifth-place tie with Hallam. Jacobus is in fourth place at 15-11.
