West York Police are looking for two men who struck an officer with a car early Saturday morning.

Wanted are Jose Leon-Ortiz, 23, of the 1400 block of Mount Rose Avenue in Spring Garden Township and Yikeem Williams, 24, whose address is not known, according to police.

A police officer was on foot patrol when he saw Williams acting suspicious in a parking lot in the first block of Overbrook Avenue about 1:30 a.m. and attempted to stop him, police said.

Williams jumped into the passenger side of a 1997 silver BMW 540. Leon-Ortiz, the driver of the car, accelerated quickly towards the officer, striking him police said.

Though the car struck the officer, he was able to avoid serious injury by partially jumping out of

the way, police said.

The officer suffered injuries to both his hands and wrists but did not require medical treatment.

Leon-Ortiz is also wanted on an outstanding warrant for an unrelated charge, police said.

Williams and Leon-Ortiz were last seen fleeing in the BMW, which has a Pennsylvania registration of HYB-2751, police said.
