The York County Commissioners and the York County Office of Emergency Management have announced the opening of a public cooling station for residents to escape the heat.
The general public can go to the Salvation Army, 114 S. Duke St. in York City. The cooling station opened at 12:30 p.m. and will remain open Friday on an as-needed basis.
The cooling station will reopen Saturday at noon, and will remain open until 4 p.m.
