Two men shot early Wednesday morning outside a York City bar are expected to survive, according to police.
James Abney, 25, of the 200 block of East Cottage Place, and Kevin Thomas, 26, of the first block of North Tremont Street, both were taken to York Hospital for treatment, York City Police said.
Abney was shot in the back and Thomas was shot in the shin, police said.
Thomas was treated and released from York Hospital, a hospital spokesman said; Abney's condition could not be obtained.
Police said the shooting happened outside Ultraviolet's bar, 370 Kings Mill Road, about 1:20 a.m.
According to police, bar employees told officers that Abney walked into the bar, got into a verbal argument with an unknown man and was asked to leave, which he did.
A short time later, the unknown male Abney had been fighting with left the bar, and that's when witnesses say gunfire rang out, according to police.
Investigators are still trying to determine who fired shots, and if there was more than one gunman, police said. It wasn't immediately clear whether Thomas is the man bar workers saw arguing with Abney, police said.
But police said they believe it's a strong possibility the argument caused the shooting.
