The Bon-Ton Stores Inc. on Thursday announced comparable store sales in the five weeks ending June 30 dropped 0.8 percent.
Total sales decreased 1 percent to $238.3 million in the current year compared with $240.8 million in the prior year period.
Year-to-date comparable store sales have dropped 0.7 percent. Year-to-date total sales decreased 0.9 percent to $1,062.2 million compared with $1,071.8 million in the same period last year.
Brendan Hoffman, president and chief executive officer, said solid Father's Day sales were offset by the timing of the July 4 holiday and severe storms that curtailed shopping in some markets.
