A Dover woman drove drunk with her three children in her vehicle and failed to pull over for a police officer, Northern York County Regional Police allege.

Tena L. Wasbers, 36, is charged with DUI, fleeing and eluding and endangering the welfare of children, police said.

An officer attempted to stop the vehicle Wasbers was driving north on Fox Run Road in Dover Township just before 3 a.m. Monday for an expired license plate, police said.

The officer activated the lights and siren on the police car but Wasbers failed to pull over, police said.

Wasbers drove to a ministorage facility, opened the electronic gate and drove into the facility. The officer followed her in.

Wasbers, who showed signs of intoxication, got out of her car and ignored the officer's commands, police said. Wasbers told the officer that she did not see the emergency lights, nor did she hear the siren of the police cruiser. She also told the officer that she did not have time to stop because she needed to move some items, police said.

The officer found Wasber's three young boys sitting in the front seat of the vehicle. A 9-year-old boy was wearing seatbelt while the boy's two brothers, ages 5 and 3, were not in any type restraint system, police said.

The boys' father was called to the scene and took custody of his children.

Wasbers underwent a blood test and was taken to central booking for arraignment, police said.
