Rev, White and Boom event
The York Revolution will hold its Rev, White and Boom Fourth of July Celebration during its game against the Somerset Patriots.
The game begins at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Sovereign Bank Stadium, 5 Brooks Robinson Way in York City.
The celebration's theme is "Armed Forces Night." The game will feature performances from the Spring Garden Band throughout the game, said Staci Wilkenson, the York Revolution's director of marketing.
Local BAE Systems will sponsor a camo game jersey and hat. Fans can bid on jerseys and hats worn by Revs during the game. The winning bidders will get the items after the game.
There will be post-game fireworks.
Gates open at 5:30 p.m. The first 1,000 fans entering the stadium will receive camo hats courtesy of St. Onge.
Red Lion will sponsor a stay-at-home celebration for Independence Day.
The band Doozees will perform at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Horn Field, along with singer Lindsey Erin. Fireworks will begin at dusk.
On Wednesday, A Roarin' Great Car Show co-sponsored by Ricke Brothers, Inc. will be held at Fairmont Park from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Also included will be a performance by the Felton Band, craft and flea market vendors and a chicken barbecue.
To celebrate Independence Day, the York County Heritage Trust will offer a variety of tours.
Tours of the Colonial Complex will be held at 10 and 11
At noon, the trust's museum educator, Patrick Bochy, will present a 30-minute program on York's own Maj. John Clark. Clark was an aide-de-camp to Nathaniel Greene as well as a spy for Gen. George Washington.
Rope making, cooking demonstrations and spy activities will be available all day. At 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., interested children can participate in a muster drill.
The Colonial Complex will be open to the public 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday. Admission for the day will be 50 percent off the regular ticket price. Adult tickets will be $5, children 8-18 $2.50.
