A Snyder County man visiting his fiancee at her Dover Township home on Monday was stabbed by the woman's ex-boyfriend, police allege.

James Snook, 39, of Beavertown, was treated at York Hospital and released, a hospital spokesman said.

His alleged attacker, Benjamin Darryl Black, was arraigned Tuesday morning at the county's central booking unit and will be taken to York County Prison on $75,000 bail, a booking official said.

Black, 24, of 3451 Davidsburg Road in Dover Township, is charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, making terroristic threats, possession of an instrument of crime and criminal trespass.

Northern York County Regional Police said Snook was at the home of fiancee Katrina Eckrote in the 4100 block of Nursery Road about 7 p.m. when Black arrived. Black and Eckrote have a 2-year-old child together, according to police.

Black confronted Eckrote, who told him to leave her property, police said, but he refused and an argument ensued. Black "assumed a fighting stance," according to charging documents.

When Snook told Black he needed to leave, Black brandished a 5-inch hunting knife and charged Snook, documents state.

During the tussle, Snook was stabbed in his left side, just below the ribs, documents state, and Black fled the area.

Black was arrested about 11:10 p.m. Monday when officers spotted him walking along Carlisle Road in Dover Township.
