Matt Daryman fired a 1-over-par 72 on Monday to win the Boys' 15-18 Blue Division in a York County Junior Golf Association Tournament at Hanover Country Club.
The Blue Division actually played from the black tees on Monday, measuring 6,474 yards.
Daryman cruised to a six-shot victory over Andrew Geesey and Ryan Keilholtz, who each fired 78s. It was Daryman's first YCJGA victory of the summer. Geesey won a match of cards over Keilholtz to grab second place.
Only three players managed to break 80 in the Blue Division.
John Bagnall shot a 75 to roll to a six-shot victory in the Boys' 15-18 White Division, which actually played from the blue tees (6,211 yards). Byron Markle took second at 81, followed by Kyle Williams at 84.
In the Boys' 14-and-Under Division, Evan Johnson shot 74 to win by seven shots. The 14-and-Under Division played from the white tees (5,623 yards). Conner Bacha was second at 81, followed by Andrew Davis at 86.
Rebecca Ream took the Girls' Division with a 95. Julianne Lee was second at 96, while Erin Gladfelter was third at 97.
The next YCJGA event is set for Monday at the Bridges.
GOLF NOTE
ACE RECORDED AT BRIARWOOD EAST: Manchester's Richard Meeks had a hole in one on Monday at Briarwood East Golf Club.
Meeks used a pitching wedge to ace the 140-yard 14th hole. It was witnessed by Richard Myers.
