Brian Montieth capped off a weekend sweep with a $5,000 Pennsylvania Sprint Car Speedweek win Sunday evening at Big Diamond.

Montieth, who has won in five of his last six starts, led all 30 laps to best Danny Dietrich.

Daryn Pittman finished third, with Lance Dewease and Alan Krimes in the top five.

Rounding out the top 10 were Chad Layton, Ryan Bohlke, Danny Lasoski, Aaron Ott and Australian visitor Darren Mollenoyux.

MONTIETH TAKES SPEEDWEEK OPENER: Montieth opened Pennsylvania Sprint Car Speedweek on Saturday evening with his fifth Lincoln Speedway win of the season.

Montieth collected $7,000 for his win in the 30-lap Kevin Gobrecht Memorial Race.

Montieth started fifth and tracked down leader Jimmy Siegel to take the lead coming off Turn 4 for the halfway sign. Montieth then drove away from the field as an all-out war developed for the remaining top-five positions. Siegel held second the rest of the way, but York's Cory Haas, and Brent Marks swapped the third position numerous times, with Haas winning out in the end. Marks was fourth. Fred Rahmer, who had slipped as far back as ninth, rallied at the end for fifth. Rounding out the top 10 were Krimes, Pittman, Danny Dietrich, Gerard McIntyre Jr. and Billy Dietrich.

Spring Grove's Harlon Leppo won the Legends feature, taking the lead from Tim Henry on the 11th of 15 laps, and then fending off fellow Spring Grove driver Chad Glatfelter. Bob Stough was third with York's Bill Diehl and Scott Gobrecht in the top five. Henry slipped to sixth.

MONTIETH ALSO WINS AT GROVE: Montieth also won on Friday evening at Williams Grove.

Montieth's second Grove win in a row was also profitable. Bonuses pushed his total that night to $5,260. Marks finished second with Danny Dietrich in third. Thomasville's Greg Hodnett and Haas completed the top five. Rounding out the top 10 were Chad Layton, Lance Dewease, Donnie Kreitz Jr., Tyler Walker and Davey Sammons.

Eric Tomecek won the 358 sprint feature after a stirring duel with Ryan Wilson. Hellam's Adrian Shaffer finished third, followed by Kevin Nouse and Brian Garland in the top five. Rounding out the top 10 were Jay Galloway, Nate Hammaker, Rocky Magaro, Dale Hammaker and Todd Berkheimer.

Saturday at the Grove, Russ Mitten won the Firecracker 30 for the super sportsmen. Mitten took the lead from Dover's Lanny Hake on the fifth lap and never looked back. Carmen Perigo Jr. finished second, with Jay Fannasy, Wellsville's Scott Geesey and Steve Fannasy in the top five. Rounding out the top 10 were Hake, Eric Walker, Dillsburg's Rich Eichelberger, Frankie Herr and Stan Wanner.

Gene Knaub outdueled fellow Dover resident Larry Baer to win the limited-late-model feature. Travis Mease, Jake Jones and Randy Stoudt completed the top five.

Jeff Haag won the street-stock feature.

SHULTZ ROLLS AT SE LINSGROVE: Friday at Selinsgrove, Jason Shultz used his 358 sprint car to win the Mach 1 chassis 358/360 sprint-car challenge race.

Shultz topped Blane Heimbach, who would come back to win Saturday's 358 sprint event at Selinsgrove.

In Friday's race, Nate Snyder finished third, followed by Jessica Zemken and Davie Franek in the top five. Rounding out the top 10 were T.J. Stutts, Mark Smith, Matt Heimbach, Brian Leppo and Jessica Anderson.

Heimbach bested Cody Keller to win the 358 sprint Firecracker 30 on Saturday. Heimbach's second Selinsgrove win of the season was worth $2,000. Stutts, York's Josh Beard and Bob Beidleman completed the top five. Rounding out the top 10 were Shultz, Fairview Township's Pat Cannon, Dover's Tim Berkheimer, Tomecek and Colby Womer.

Jeff Rine won the late-model feature over Jim Bernheisel, Tony Adams, Steve Campbell and Dylan Yoder.

Hayes Mattern was the pro-stock winner and Brian Johnson won the roadrunner feature.

SNEERINGER SHINES AT TRAILWAY: York's Issac Sneeringer won his first career 358 sprint-car feature Friday at Trailway.

Sneeringer bested Brad McClelland for the win, with Manchester's Austin Hogue in third. Mike Bittinger and Lewisberry's Kyle Moody completed the top five. Rounding out the top 10 were Hanover's Tim Wagaman, Steve Owings, Spring Grove's Zach Eucalano, Ashley Cappetta and Wes Irwin.

Dan Furman won the Xtreme stock feature and Kyle Rohrbaugh was the limited-stock winner.

Trailway canceled Saturday's program because of the predicted excessive heat.

STUHLER EXCELS AT HAGERSTOWN: Gary Stuhler pushed the records even higher in Saturday's Johnny Roberts Memorial for the late models at Hagerstown.

Stuhler's last-turn win in the 50-lap event marked his 139th career Hagerstown win, and his seventh in this event, both records.

Stuhler passed Brian Booze off the final turn for the win, with Alan Sagi, Nick Dickson and Roy Deese Jr. in the top five. Justin Weaver won the late-model-sportsman feature and Hanover's Kenny Dillon was the pure-stock winner with a last-lap pass. Mark Vegh was declared the hobby-stock winner.

AIKIN TAKES URC EVENT: Ed Aikin fended off Kramer Williamson in a near-photo finish to win the URC sprint feature at Delaware International on Saturday evening.

Kevin Darling finished third, with Dover's Chad Trout and Davie Franek in the top five.
