A West Virginia woman dropped off her daughter on the side of Interstate 83 and left after the two got into an argument, according to state police.
Heather Anne Jones, 41, of Martinsburg also left her daughter's 16-year-old friend at a welcome center during the June incident, police said.
Jones is charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and one count each of reckless endangerment and disorderly conduct, according to online court documents.
Charges against Jones were filed on Friday. She's awaiting a preliminary hearing.
Jones and her 17-year-old daughter got into an argument as they were travelling south on I-83 about 2:34 p.m. on June 18. Jones pulled over at mile marker five, dropped off the girl and then left, police said.
A few miles down the highway, Jones pulled into a welcome center, dropped off her daughter's female friend from Baltimore and left, police said.
Southern York County Regional Police found Jones' daughter in Shrewsbury, police said.
